About Me

Yoga and The Art of Exercise

Welcome to my website. I am a working mom who teaches yoga downtown. My yoga studio often features the art of local artists on its walls. I love everything that makes life more beautiful, which includes both art and yoga. I created this website to share my love of both of these things, but posts will lean more heavily towards exercise topics. Even if yoga is too "zen" for you, there are other forms of exercise that can help you appreciate the beauty of the world around you, including running and hiking. Read on for tips, tricks and encouraging posts.

4 Different Sound Healing Techniques

Sound healing has been used for centuries to treat and cure different ailments. Sound has a powerful impact on your body and can be used to help heal your body. A trained practitioner administers sound healing.

#1: Vibroacoustic Therapy

Vibroacoustic therapy is often referred to as VAT. With VAT, you are laid down on specially designed beds that have speakers built into the bed. Then music is played through the speakers so that the vibrations go directly through your body. The musical vibrations are designs to impact your body on a cellular level. This type of therapy is used specifically to help one recover from injuries.

#2: Tuning Fork Therapy

Another type of sound therapy is tuning forks. Tuning forks are special musical instruments that are used directly on your body. Tuning forks are calibrated and applied to points on your body, allowing vibrations to run through a specific area of your body. This type of sound therapy is used to help release tension. It is often used to deal with both emotional and physical pain. Tuning fork therapy is often compared to acupuncture without the needles, as the forks are placed on specific pressure and energy points on the body.

#3: Singing Bowl Therapy

Singing bowl therapy has been around for hundreds of years. Signing bowls are used for therapy, ritual, meditation, and ceremonial purposes. The sound the bowls make sounds like a bell or a gong. As a therapy method, a practitioner created the sound, who crates sounds in a specific way to help heal your body. Sound therapy is used for a variety of different alignments, with an emphasis on helping to reduce stress and anxiety and prove one's mode. It can also be used to help improve blood pressure, circulation, and breathing.

#4: Root Frequency

With root frequency, the point of the therapy is to get your body back in balance with your frequency that you are supposed to reside in. Root frequency therapy is based on a belief that your spirit is designed to reside within a certain frequency and that noise in the world can get you out of balance. Therefore, the point of the therapy is to cut out the noise of the world and get your body back on the vibration that it should be.

There are many different types of sound therapy. Sound therapy used sound vibrations to help relax and heal your body. The exact method of sound therapy you should use depends on your ultimate healing goals. To learn more, contact services like Uplift Yoga.
